I love being home.

We've been spending our days soaking up the sun by going to the beach, playing in the yard with the dogs, and going to the pool. It's fantastic and I'm not even looking forward to starting work on June 1 because this vacation living is soooo much better.

Real Quick.

Real quick here’s what has been going on:

• Andy is outside with the FedEx guy unloading our 13 boxes we had shipped. These were things that were SUPPOSED to go in the cars, but um..yeah we have a lot of stuff. The other 21 boxes (remember the Uhaul trip to Traverse City?) arrived about a month ago.
• We FINALLY have internet! Andy has been trying to figure it out for DAYS. Last night we broke down and bought a new router. Still didn’t work completely, but with the help of tech support, we’re finally back online. THANK GOD! I missed the internets.
• I got a JOB. Like real Working Woman, 9-5 status. With AMAZING benefits. Job duties, not so fun. But I’ll explain that later. The benefits are worth it.
• Andy and I both start our new jobs on June 1st, which means we have some play time before then!
• Working on my TAN! Haven’t actually been to the beach yet, but sitting outside in the sun while Andy plays with the dogs is good for now.
• Dexter’s eye surgery is TOMORROW! No more cherry eye for this little pup!
• Speaking of Dex, things are going really well with the two big dogs. He’s still a little intimidated, but he loves chasing Gracie around as she fetches the ball. It’s totally cute.
• SUNSHINE! Just loving it :)
• HUGE ant problem. Apparently they enjoy dog food. And bully sticks..yeah, what?! Gross. So we’ve been working on getting that under control.
• Got my hairs cut! Totally short again. More bangs. I feel like I should be a 1950s housewife on a black and white TV show. I liked it at first, but now I’m not so sure. I think I’ll like it more when it’s straightened. Right now it’s got the total flip thing going on.
• We’ve already been out for fro-yo twice. Need to stop that or we’ll be in trouble this summer! But it’s so so good!
• My cousin Travis thinks I’m going to go skydiving with him this summer. He went for the first time two days ago and had so much fun he did it again the next day. I don’t think I’ll be participating. I value my LIFE.
• Forgot to mention, our jobs are in two completely different directions. Should be fun when the time comes to find an apartment.
• I think that’s it. We’re about to go SHOPPING! Been to Target quite a few times already, but no clothes shopping yet and I need some summer clothing!

Yes, we attempted to cut Dexter’s hair today. There was some semi-fail involved. He wanted no part of the clippers near his face and legs, so we ended up with Lion Dog. It’s pretty much the funniest thing I’ve ever seen and I can’t look at him without laughing. We may or may not attempt to get the rest tomorrow.

My life.

Life has been BUSY.

Let me recap for you:

• Last week was finals week for Andrew, so in between his million-hour-long take home final, we packed. And packed. And packed. Who knew we had so much stuff?
• Graduation was on Saturday. I screamed as loud as I could when Andrew’s name was called, but had NO HELP from anyone else. Boo to them.
• Went on a long, long drive through Copper Harbor and looked at all the waterfalls one last time. Dex got car sick on my lap. Eww.
• Stopped at the Gay Bar..in Gay, MI. Ran into a fellow classmate of Andrew’s and she gave us some raffle tickets for the Kentucky Derby. The one I happened to pick up was the WINNER! Holla for twenty dolla!
• Officially moved out of our apartment on Sunday. Sad to leave it behind, but so much to look forward to! I do wish we could transplant our old apartment right in front of the beach in California, though.
• As soon as the landlord walked through our apartment and gave us a fatty check for our deposit + pet deposit, we were on our way downstate.
• 10 hours later we arrived in Hart, MI. Unpacked the truck, Yukon XL, AND our car (because we had THAT much stuff..all three vehicles were completely full) and called it a night.
• Today we took Dex to the kennel for the first time ever. Cue Mommy freak-out. I held it in, of course, but my mind was freaking out. He actually did much better than I was expecting while we were there. I’m hoping he has a good time. They have play time a few times a day, so he’ll get to socialize with the other small dogs. He NEEDS it.
• Going to the Tigers game this evening. 3.5 hour drive there, so we’ll be leaving pretty soon. Yay Tigers!
• Tomorrow the old Maxima is getting the windshield replaced. FINALLY. Stoked for that.
• Friday we have to take the new Maxima down to Grand Rapids because the strut is making noises and it was replaced down there a few weeks ago. Hopefully we’ll get to see Andrew’s BFF while we’re down there.
• Have to get in LOTS of family time between now and next Monday! Family Dinner on Thursday (How cute is that?! They do it every week!) and a BBQ on Saturday.
• We need to re-pack the majority of our boxes. We have WAY more stuff than anticipated and will need to ship a ton of it. Which means going through everything and packing it well enough for shipping. Ugh. So not looking forward to that.
• I still have class until the end of May (online), so I’m still doing homework and exams. LAAAMMMEEE. I’m so ready to be done!
• We head out for California on MONDAY! I cannot wait! We’ll be stopping in Omaha, NE the first night, then two nights with my aunt and new baby cousin!! In Boulder, CO. Then the last night in St. George, UT. Should be a decent trip across the country. And LAST trip across the country. This will make FOUR times. Um yeah, I’m over road tripping.

So that’s my life in a nutshell right now. Like I said, insanely busy! But we’ll be in sunny California in less than two weeks! Woooo.
