The Fair!!

IMG_1665

The Orange County Fair has finally decided to grace us with its presence and this year’s theme is “Think. Big.” And boy, did we ever. At least, food wise ;) Who doesn’t love to EAT at the fair?! Honestly, we’re probably rookies, with only having one main dish each and splitting dessert, but whatever. It was yummy! Andy ordered a giant turkey leg topped off with side of onion rings, while I got the world’s largest corn dog. Actually, second largest. They also offered a $10 MASSIVE corn dog (mine was $8..hey, fair food isn’t cheap)!

After walking around the buildings, purchasing a fake hair flower, having a Russian lady clean my earrings, and finding a million things to put on THE list for our future home, we took a break to eat dessert. My favorite part! Every year it’s the same thing. Sometimes if we’re feeling spunky we’ll get two things, but always, always, always a cinnamon roll. They are the best ever and it should be illegal to go to the fair without having one.

Then it was time for the only ride we bother riding. La Grande Wheel. I don’t know why I always think it’s a good idea. That thing is HUGE. Like, for real. It’s the largest touring ferris wheel in North America. So why, why, why did I decide I wanted to ride it? I don’t know.

It was exciting. Then it wasn’t. And finally, I had fun!

And the view wasn’t so bad, either.

We also saw the baby piglets. Soooo cute! I guess I should mention that we’ve been to the fair twice. We went opening night and the piggies were born just the previous day! They sure grow fast!

So the only reason we went to the fair on opening night, and I mean ONLY (Seriously, who goes on OPENING NIGHT?! Wayyy too crowded) was to see Heart perform. Who doesn’t love some good ol’ 80’s(ish) classic rock?! I’m pretty sure Ann had a blood pressure monitor attached to her left arm, but that didn’t stop her from singing her heart (ha..ha) out! I was a tad disappointed they didn’t play my favorite adulterous hooker song (All I Wanna Do…Is Make Love To You), but the rest of the show did not disappoint!

All in all, the fair was a fantastic time, as usual. Now can it please go away so there’s less traffic on my drive home from work?

You know me better than I do!

cassandycollage4

He's sitting in front of the TV; what is on the screen?
She says: ESPN. Or FSN Detroit. Obviously we’re not in Michigan anymore, so that’s not even possible…but if we were.
He says: ESPN. That one was too easy.

You're out to eat; what kind of dressing does he get on his salad?:
She says: Ranch or Caesar. It kind of depends on what I’m in the mood for because most of the time we’re sharing.
He says: For the most part, Ranch.

What's one food he doesn't like?:
She says: Is there such a thing??? Olives.
He says: *Laughs* Olives. Why’d you laugh? Because I was trying to think of something I didn’t like, there aren’t many things. I think I like this game.

You go out to eat and have a drink. What drink does he order?
She says: Diet cola. Unless of course Diet Mt. Dew is on the menu..but that doesn’t happen often.
He says: Diet cola. Since nobody carries Diet Mt. Dew for Christ sake! Haha, I said diet cola. Ooh, you even remember how I order it at restaurants.

What size shoe does he wear?:
She says: 12 or 13.
He says: 13.

If he was to collect anything, what would it be?:
She says: Hats. Lots and lots of hats.
He says: Hats. Man, I'm good!

What is his favorite type of sandwich?:
She says: Some type of Italian jig. With salami and all that jazz.
He says: *Thinks for a long while* Philly. Is that considered a sandwich? What did you say? Italian something with salami. Ooooh good call. You know me better than I do.

What would this person eat every day if he could?:
She says: Shrimp…or Mexican.
He says: Mexican or Greek. I dunno, Chinese food is pretty good too. That’s a tough one!

What is his favorite cereal?:
She says: Cap’n Crunch Peanut Butter!
He says: That’s got to be Cap’n Peanut Butter Crunch, or whatever it’s called! It’s the only thing I bought in Michigan, I BETTER know your favorite cereal.

What would he never wear?
She says: Pink. Tight jeans? Flowers. I don’t know, there are plenty of things he wouldn’t wear.
He says: A sweater. But you DO wear sweaters. I know. Um, a wife beater? Holey jeans?

What is his favorite sports team?:
She says: Detroit Tigers, obviously. Followed closely by the Red Wings.
He says: Ooh, it’s a rough one. Right now it’s the Tigers. When it’s not baseball season it’s the Red Wings.

What is something you do that he wishes you wouldn't do?:
She says: Constantly ask him to do something while he’s trying to relax.
He says: *Loud Laugh* Critique my driving. Um, I’d say stress out. I said constantly ask you to do stuff while you’re trying to relax. No, I’m okay with that as long as you don’t stress out and critique my driving. HAHA.

You bake him a cake for his birthday; what kind of cake?
She says: His birthday dessert requests are different every single year. I’ll say carrot cake or cheesecake, since those are what I made the last two years.
He says: Carrot, please. That lemon one you made that one time was freaking awesome too, though. I put carrot and cheesecake. Oooh, that cheesecake you made was bomb dot com too.

What could he spend hours doing?:
She says: Reading. Playing PS3.
He says: Reading. Or playing this thing. *As he’s playing PS3.*
