I actually thought we were going to end on good terms, Houghton and I.
Last week it was sunny and 40 to 50 degrees. Nice spring weather. Yeah, Houghton and I were getting along pretty well.
Then.
Then this happened:

(Our car is in the middle, in case you were wondering)
The landlord had to put his plow back on his truck (since you know, normal places don’t snow this late in the SPRING).
Andrew went to town cleaning off the car with his hand (gloved) because we left the snow brush downstate in the car that has SNOW TIRES on it. Then he continued with the shovel to dig the rest of the car out. Do you know how heavy wet snow is? Yeah, I picked up the shovel and tried once, but it wasn’t going anywhere.
Fortunately, the landlord was still in our driveway and helped Andrew push the car out of our spot.

When I went to pick Andrew up from class I nearly got stuck again. Because even though it had been plowed (and I parked in a plowed spot), another 6 inches or so had fallen. Thank goodness I made it out or Andrew would have been at school for a while longer.

When we got home, we got stuck again. We were trying to figure out the best place to park and stopped the car in the process. Oops. Andy shoveled and pushed us out for the second time.
The landlord came back to plow again, so I thought I’d be nice and move my car after he’d finished doing the front half. Yeah, not so much. It definitely wouldn’t move and I dug myself a nice hole. So the car stays where it is and hopefully tomorrow it will melt a little before it’s time to leave. Otherwise, Andrew will be pushing us out AGAIN.
Seriously, what IS this? It’s the end of April for Christ’s sake. This snow storm is worse than a lot of the ones that happened during the WINTER. It hasn’t stopped snowing for two days straight and it’s coming down quite heavy.
I hate you, Houghton, MI.
